Where Does Revival Begin?

Revival IS NOT the work of human hands or the result of human effort. Rather, it is of the Sovereign Work of a Holy God in response to the devotion and total surrender of one who cries out to Him. Revival truly begins in one’s heart.

“For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?” 1 Peter 4:17 KJV

As the apostle Peter explains, judgment must first begin at the house of God, in the heart of the believer. The word ‘judgement’ used in this particular scripture was translated from the word ‘krima,’ which means affliction or punishment. This refers to the trials that God’s people will be allowed to go through in order to correct them and set them on the right path. Many believers are experiencing great dissatisfaction with what we have become as individuals and corporately as a church. It seems as though we have lost our way. Therefore, the things that we are going through at this hour will bring about restoration, as God is reviving a people to be salt and light during these amazing times.

A true Holy Spirit revival is a renewal, a reviving, of the believer which is accompanied by a greater awareness of the presence of sin in one’s life. Such a ‘pricking of the heart’ by the Holy Spirit stirs the passion for one’s desire for holiness; and will lead many unbelievers to salvation.

The walk of many believers, just as the general state of the church, can be likened to that of fallow ground. And it is out of this ‘fallow’ and ‘uncultivated’ state that a desire for a greater knowledge of God is born.‘Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.’ Hosea 10:12 KJV

The time is now to repent. The time is now to totally surrender to God. Together let us cry out to the One who is the only hope for a nation and a people that have lost its way.
